Our Family
David and Cheryl met while in college at NC State where David earned a bachelors in Animal Science and Cheryl in Agricultural Education.
After graduating, David returned to the family farm to manage the dairy herd. Cheryl taught school and was a marketing representative for an Agriculture company.
The dairy cattle were David's passion and he managed the top herd in the state with great enthusiasm but after years of very depressed milk prices, the difficult decision was made to sell the dairy herd and focus on vegetable production. David took it all in stride and jumped into the world of vegetables!
Cheryl and David have two children, both of whom came to their family through open adoption. Josie is a high school Junior who loves barrel racing, driving tractors and Chik-fil-a! Talton is a high school Freshman who loves playing electric guitar, Xbox and classic Rock!
Today, David and Cheryl work together on the farm with help from their children and David's Uncle Eubert.
The family loves hosting tour groups and teaching people of all ages about Agriculture and its importance. They strive to honor the traditions of the past while continuing to grow and change to meet current demands. AGvocating for Agriculture is a true passion for the entire family!
